C.I. Atumah is a writer and researcher interested in Black beauty, digital culture and how stories shape identity. She has a background in human anatomy and works at the intersection of science, culture and storytelling. Her writing often explores Black hair, skin and how they are seen in media and technology, alongside a growing interest in everyday hair and skin care. As a Research Round LUNE AI fellow, she researched how AI misrepresents Black beauty and femininity, using ChatGPT and Midjourney as case studies. She is also a contributor at the Open Source Afro Hair Library where she brings clarity, care and cultural meaning to model language and representation of Black beauty in virtual media.
